ence in certain forms since 1995. Started as a studio for furniture design and fabrication, sniffy grew into environment design and physical i.d. elements [signage, logo, etc.]. In 1998, the creative thrust moved towards the ethereal with the introduction of the sniffy linings web factory. Maintaing the graphics potential inherent in sign and physical i.d. design while incorporating a nearly obsessive bent at linear processing, balancing the form and function inherent in constructing unique websites as functional art spaces, was quickly recognized as the logical conclusion. Soon following the introduction of the internet as a mode of ecstatic expression, in 1999 sniffy linings press was incorporated as a venue for online literary publishing, and now covers not only online publishing but eBook production and small run physical publishing. The press now houses an international cache of 40+ writers and artists.
Sniffy is now focused on the construction of pseudotangible and visually dynamic web treatments. Most people who hire sniffy to create a visual identity do so because of the sniffy focus in generating unique visual interface, though all facets of website functionality can be applied. Sniffy Linings is a portland web zine and international web zine as well as an oregon web zine. Sniffy is also an oregon zine and a portland zine with portland writers.
